You can actually open both the shade and sunroof at same time. All you need to do is push the switch to the rearward position quickly two times and both shade and roof open together. Just make sure to push switch quickly and it works for me every time. 
As for my gripes: - Cheap interior plastics around seat, rear hatch, and front console that constantly rub together and squeak. Unacceptable in a $70K vehicle.
- Laggy transmission
- Terrible back up camera
- Slow navigation system
