They will wear faster in your Southern California climate, as the tread compound is optimized for colder weather. There are a variety of Pirelli Scorpion tires avaialable; the all season are not the same tire as the winter tire.
I like our Pirelli Scorpions on the X3, but they aren't the ice and snow version.
