The outside temp sensor is just a simple thermal resistor (ntc). The instrument cluster reads the resistance through it and determines the temp reading... there isn't a problem with the sensor in your case. The instrument cluster may have "forgotten" how to display it, and may need recoding. If you know anyone with a GT1 with older software like DIS V43 they can do it, otherwise it may not bother you enough to pay the dealer for recoding (if that is even the problem).
