The 35d does NOT require a delay for 'glo plugs'. By the time you get in your seat and press the Start/Stop button the engine is ready.
There has been
speculation that the 35d has glo plugs and that they are activated every time you open the driver's door. The
facts are that you can hear a high pitch sound every time you open the driver's door. This sound is accompanied with a significant drop in voltage which goes away as soon as the sound stops (a minute or so). This
may or may not be associated with glo plugs. But I would check to see if you can hear the high pitch sound just in case.

Edit: My bad

Apparently you can get a delay if the engine is cold enough.
