Roads in NJ/NY are Atrocious

Drove the 3er up to NY/NJ over the weekend. Oh my god, the roads there are awful. I don't know how y'all with 19" and 20" wheels manage that on a daily basis. Despite wearing "softer" 17" winter wheels/tyres, I had to constantly slow down and weave the 3er around expansion joints, poor pavement, and potholes; I spent more time looking down at the pavement than pedestrians and overhead signs. describes my back and what's left of my teeth. I saw so many folks on the side of the road changing a flat. Wonder if this is a normal occurance.......

And what's up with people driving 335xi with 18" summer tyres in the winter? At least the many Canadians I saw had the sense to fit winter tyres on their vehicles (granted, it's compulsory in QC).

I think next time, I'll take Amtrak. NYC is exhausting. But at least good food can be had for cheap. And the lights on the skyscrapers are certainly very cool at night.
