My point is that the folks that died in Fords 10 years ago are still dead. So yes, context matters. Toyota has a serious issue on their hands and one can only hope they do a better job of "owning up" to their negligence than Ford execs.
And WTF are you talking about, I "would love to see Toyota bankrupt"? Make that up much? I never said anything like that and in fact that is entirely up to the consumer. What I find odd is the protection of foreign entities and the dismantling of domestic ones...
Dismantling of domestics? Nobody dismantled Ford. They're still alive and resilient despite all their setbacks. GM and Chrysler? They dismantled themselves by failing economically on multiple levels. My point is: Let the fittest survive. I don't care if it's foreign or domestic. In a free-market economy Toyota is entitled to a level playing field. If they can't fix this quickly enough, they may suffer the same fate as GM and Chrysler. But I would not bet against them.
