I have a question about insurance and OEM parts. My quote says that they will replace the front bumper with a refurbished OEM bumper. I know my car is eight years old and has over 100,000 miles, but I maintain it pretty darn well and overall it is a very clean car. The Hartford rep told me they only use new OEM parts if the car is less than about two years old and has under 20,000 miles. Does this sound right and/or typical? Am I being anal because this bothers me a little?
Anyway, I dropped the X off at this place today;
Magnum Collision Repair Center
They are the preferred repairer for Atlanta's biggest BMW dealer as well as even higher end dealers like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and others. I get the feeling that this place is more than capable of replacing a bumper and aligning a fender.
