great point about parking. I always park far away. unluckily when my car is up at school it is very difficult to find a spot far away from people. I used to have a 1998 Infiniti I30t, and i remember i parked at a friends house near my hs because my junior year at highschool i was not allowed to park on campus. Anyway, there was construction going on at the house, and i came out to my car with a HUGE dent on the front quarter panel, with a piece of wood right below it. clearly it was from that, i was stuck in a moral dilemma because they were nice enough to let me park there, but they damaged my car. I just let it slide because i hated that car anyway. It still made me upset because the person who did it clearly knew that they did. And to make it worse, that same day that car got stuck in the mud they made me park in. definitely not one of the better days.

I have a question about insurance and OEM parts. My quote says that they will replace the front bumper with a refurbished OEM bumper. I know my car is eight years old and has over 100,000 miles, but I maintain it pretty darn well and overall it is a very clean car. The Hartford rep told me they only use new OEM parts if the car is less than about two years old and has under 20,000 miles. Does this sound right and/or typical? Am I being anal because this bothers me a little?
Anyway, I dropped the X off at this place today; Magnum Collision Repair Center They are the preferred repairer for Atlanta's biggest BMW dealer as well as even higher end dealers like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin and others. I get the feeling that this place is more than capable of replacing a bumper and aligning a fender.
