Hey everyone,

Just bought a 2002 X5 3.0 (sport, 5 speed) to replace my Volvo V70R, which I spend more time under than in. I love Bimmers and have had an '03 325i, '02 M3 and still have a '68 2002.

My X5 has a flip down LCD screen for the rear passengers, which if I've read correctly was VCR based for 2002. I've rooted through the rear compartment and found no VCR or DVD player, but some non-factory wires (zip tied not fabric wrapped), a factory "switching module" and some connectors. I'm not super familiar with ICE or electronics, and some help deciphering these would be great, and advice on what to do: ie, add an aftermarked DVD player etc.

In the photos, the "switching module" is under the floor, with that 4-port connector and a 1/8 male plug labled "remote in" (the brown wire). In the other pic you can see a 2-port plug to the left under the bundle of cable, which is all in the right rear compartment.
