I know the BMW 6 cylinders are build like rocks as in they don't break down... I've owned 325's in the past and no matter how much I would throw at them, they'd still run strong as day one given I changed the oil and babied them here and there...

I am not too familiar with the V8's but from what other posters are saying 200k should not be that far off given you maintain them. I looked into 2001 7 Series and I was amazed to see many for sale with well over 200k miles and still running strong. Given it's the same engine as the X5, we should be able to expect the same given some luck and proper maintenance.
