Your dealer is clueless.
For a 2002, changing the radio module to a 2004+ unit is a plug-n-play swap. Once the 2004 or newer radio module is installed then all you need to do is install the Sirius kit. All of the Sirius parts you need are well documented by IFlyX5 (Peter) in this article -
