I have a 2002 X5. If I upgrade my radio unit but NOT my nav unit can I get Sirius?

I had sirius before I upgraded my nav to MK4. I just updated the radio module and then added the sirius...

my dealer is telling me i need some sort of ibus connector in my car so it is not possible to upgrade....does anyone know anything about this?

Your dealer is clueless.

For a 2002, changing the radio module to a 2004+ unit is a plug-n-play swap. Once the 2004 or newer radio module is installed then all you need to do is install the Sirius kit. All of the Sirius parts you need are well documented by IFlyX5 (Peter) in this article - http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-197.html
