Had same wear on my old Mich 285's. Suspension setup and the negative camber are the culprits. The wider the tyre the worse it gets, don't see it on the standard 17" though. It is a typical BMW style over practicality of over size tyres for the sake of appearance.

Either down size or keep putting hand in wallet
