Congrats on your new-to-you X5. I understand your desire to change your interior trim. I swapped my dark poplar to anthracite gray maple and love it with my gray interior. I was lucky to know someone who had taken the anthracite maple trim out and sold it to me. I then sold my dark poplar.

Your best bets are to: (a) check eBay for complete trim sets; (b) find someone who might want to swap with you; (c) remove your trim and have it custom finished.

Do a search here for one member's cool custom carbon fiber wrapped trim. There have also been people who have had their trim custom painted. Removing the trim is easy, with the center console being the just time consuming. You can take it out and have it refinished for much cheaper than $918, I would think.
