Interior options?

So I just bought my X5 a couple weeks back, and I find I'm really not digging the wood trim. Went on realoem to see what other options were available, and it looks like there's a "Graphite Metallic" trim option. Anyone have good pics of how that'd look with the lighter gray interior? If it helps, '06, 4.4i, no nav w/premium sound, no heated seats.

Also, compiling all the parts on tischler's site, $918 plus shipping - ouch! Anyone think I'd have a chance of getting the entire interior trim set from a pick-a-part yard or parts recycler? (Maybe even a member here who'd want to switch?)

Thanks!
Erik

Congrats on your new-to-you X5. I understand your desire to change your interior trim. I swapped my dark poplar to anthracite gray maple and love it with my gray interior. I was lucky to know someone who had taken the anthracite maple trim out and sold it to me. I then sold my dark poplar.

Your best bets are to: (a) check eBay for complete trim sets; (b) find someone who might want to swap with you; (c) remove your trim and have it custom finished.

Do a search here for one member's cool custom carbon fiber wrapped trim. There have also been people who have had their trim custom painted. Removing the trim is easy, with the center console being the just time consuming. You can take it out and have it refinished for much cheaper than $918, I would think.

That would be pretty wicked, but this is my daily driver, so I'd probably end up having to find a spare set or pay price + core to have a set forward shipped to me. I love real CF, haven't had a vehicle worthy of the effort.

Thanks for the advice!

Looks pretty nice, but it'd bug me knowing it's a vinyl wrap, and I've never been that good at doing vinyl wrap/stretch anyway...
