Its a non-original 302 with 4 spd automatic. Guy said engine and tranny has been rebuilt in the last 4 years. I'll probably leave it alone for now and just do an engine dress-up kit. When I successfully get to a certain point (driving this baby) then I'll consider dropping in what's really supposed to be in there - 428 CJ w/manual.
I wanted a driver, which this is - it runs and drives now. There were many REAL project cars out there but was dissasembled completely. This car is almost totally assembled.
Lots of little bolt-ons but nothing crazy. I wish I was a mechanic, body, and paint guy all together. Would save me more money!
Overall I THINK this is a fairly easy project. I'm going to concentrate the most money and time to the body. Clean up the interior real good. Get a real good paint job that lasts. This car doesn't have layers and layers of paint - all primed and just needs massaging.
I'm a Pontiac man so I have to research Mustangs and Shelbys. I'm not trying to build a show car but I do want to do a nice job.
