I think you do take too much sugar in your cornflakes in the mornings.

I claimed that you will find a resistor in the box and guess what I see in the photo Terry posted? 2 resistors!

So what is in that box?

2 RESISTORS.

There is a huge 28 pin chip in there also. This is used to allow for adjustment of the variable resistors.

Now to close on this one, as I have proved my point that those tuning boxes do is RESIST the signal going to the ECU I have typed up a paragraph on what I think of tuning boxes and this is my opinion on them. Yes I will generalise all resistor type tuning boxes as they can all be made at home with all the parts purchased from ebay for less than 30 or 40 usd. If you were buying them in bulk they would be much cheaper. Definitely a huge profit margin in them.

Tuning Boxes in my opinion.
Tuning boxes are the mother of all evil in this world of tuning. I am sure they were developed in a secret facility by satan himself and that is putting it mildly. With ECU remapping you change ALL the needed parameters that run your engine. A tuningbox just lies to your engine management system, throwing it off balance and feeding your engine the wrong amounts of fuel etc. Very often you will see powerboxes on ebay, which are basically two plastic plugs, a small box and a 5 cent resistor poured into black resin. Some of the more advanced ones will have 2 resistors and a chip to allow it to be adjusted, adjusting the power of signal going to the ECU. If you want to get rich quick with an astronomical profit margin you should start selling tuningboxes, because the company logo sticker on the outside is the most expensive part of it. Do they give you a noticeable effect? Yes, you will get some more performance, accompanied by a tail of black smoke and an engine that hates you forever. Still want to buy a tuningbox? Read this paragraph again.
