Can't answer definitively for all years and models, but the wheels from my 2002 X5 would not fit my 2011 X5. The spare tire in my 2002 X5 was full-size (albeit 17-inch) and I can't see how it would fit in the 2011's space-saver spare tire well. Based on that, I would not recommend looking at used E53 spare tires/wheels.
