I think American drivers have become stupid and panic instead of react. The problem should be addressed but its not a big deal. I have a car/truck that is now subject to the recall and I will get the new mats. I must say that the current mats seem fine and have never been a problem. The Rav is 4 years old (45,000 miles) and has never needed more than a oil and air filter change. It is a quality car that is much more trouble free than my BMW's, but it does not drive like a BMW.
