While I was at the dealership this am, getting my low washer fluid level checked, and then filled...the area BMW Engineer was there.
They "somewhat" admitted BMW is having seat issues with the E70. They wanted me to leave my car again, to try and "troubleshoot" the creak/snap that is plaguing my 2011 35d. My dealer and my Service Advisor really went to bat for me today. They told the Engineer that I have bought 2 750s, an M6, an X5 and an X3 from them. In addition to 4 other X5s, 4 3 Series, and M3 and a Z8 Alpina. They told the Engineer that I am a very loyal and faithful BMW customer, and it is not fair that I have to deal with this issue, and let BMW just pick my car apart and waste my time.
There is a "worldwide backorder" on E70 seat parts according to the Engineer. While BMW is downplaying the issue, they must have had some major seat supplier issues with shoddy parts and manufacturing.
They ordered me an entire new seat frame, a whole seat channel assembly, seat railing system and mounting hardware. Of course, it is backordered from Germany and they said it could be up to FOUR months to get.
Also when I pushed them about this issue, they grudgingly admitted that this may, or may not fix the problem.
