I'm located in So. Cali, and found a used 2011 X5 the exact color combo i want in Arizona. If purchase the car, I would be flying to Phx, AZ and then drive it home to cali. The car is being sold from a Chrysler Jeep Dealership in AZ, and was a trade in. Since i can't inspect in car in person, I ask the dealer to send me a sheet that details the exact features on the car. Dealer tells me that the car is in perfect condition. Basically, its a 2011 X5 Premium Pkg.

I haven't negotiated anything yet. The dealer is asking $49,995. I tried getting the value on KBB but it says the car is worth 3K more than the dealing is asking for! With the KBB value throwing me off I don't know where to starting negotiating or how much i should pay?

On a different note, have any of you guys purchased a vehicle out of state? Am i paying taxes where i'm purchasing the car(Arizona), or is it where i reside? (Cali) I did a little research and it seems I would pay taxes where it live. But when talking to the sales guy, he told me i would be paying taxes in AZ, and when i get back to cali I would be just paying for the registrations fees. NOt sure if its true, or was the salesman trying to pull a fast one on me.
