I found that several dealers on the surface were willing to do X over invoice, but they quickly added various fees to the total, such as a markup on the money factor, acquisition fee, and/or doc fees. Also different dealers reported different invoices on the same vehicle. In my experience, of the 6 prospective dealers there was only one dealer willing to keep it at X over invoice.
