Interestingly, the story is that you cannot find anyplace to post independent reviews or comments about Autobahn...they get taken down quickly. Also reports of IPs traced to AB being used to generate glowing reports/comments.
Local news initially touched on the story, but then the reality of the 'Autobahn family of car dealerships' withholding advertising (TV, radio, newspaper) came home to roost and that stopped.
This really is a story of poor management at the outset, and an owner who decided "F this, I will not be bullied". In actual fact, he wasn't being bullied- but rather he was being lied to by his staff, who were wrong- who had mismanaged this- and who, to save their jobs, were lying to the owner and painting Tommy as the bad guy. They had the chance to do the right thing, did the wrong thing at each opportunity and then blamed the victim when he didn't acquiesce.
It cost AB $160k, another $100k for their lawyer, lost productivity, another $50k+ in trying to manage the internet...really crazy.
And they now have public records showing their own people admit they were at fault.
But I hardly followed it....
