I paid him $300, and according to him, he made a single module for heating control, and it just works find on my car. And it just work fine on my car. Well, one downside is that I gave up voice command button on steering wheel to use it as turn off button. Heating control button only turns on the heat.
I think if there is a technician who knows about electronics and module work, it will be a easy job.

When you removed the steering wheel, how do you know that you put it back on correctly? I.e. - since the DSC monitors steering wheel angle, what are the chances that you put the steering wheel on a few degrees off? Is it easy to make this mistake or are the differences in degrees position obvious enough that you won't put the steering wheel back on incorrectly?
I am asking since I had a defective heated steering wheel which got replaced. But now I noticed that the steering wheel is slightly turned left. The X5 tracks perfectly straight, however.
