If I were buying a new X5, it would be the family car, so for roadtrips in the family car I would prefer some sort of high performance all-season run flats. I would also be just fine with standard high performance all-seasons and a full size spare.

If I were buying a non-SUV BMW, it would be my personal car, so I would want standard high performance summer tires at a minimum. Max performance summer tires preferred. I live in the south, so snow isn't a big concern for me.
