I am not anti-AAPL, (I have a few hundred shares and wish I had a few thou), and I am not anti-Apple products, or even disdainful of the KoolAid brigade... 
As for golf clubs, 'tech is fine/good' but I am still banging older tech clubs, esp irons and wedges. I try other people's stuff, but other than slight forgiveness on some shots, a good, repeatable swing is my winter/FL Shack goal.

I started by getting a Mac Book instead of PC with Vista. My Mac Book worked great and now every family member has a Mac and I-Phone. They sucked me in by working well and providing good support.
Md you take great photo's with digital cameras so you are not that old tech.
