Yet another FSR thread??

Hi all,
Noob to Xoutpost and glad to be here. That said, I have owned several BMW's over the years. Last month, I picked up an 08 X5 3.0si and I absolutely love it. I went away on a business trip and my wife drove it for a couple of days and low and behold....when I get back home, the HVAC blower fan in the front stopped working. Rear works great. I checked the fuses and they are all ok...btw, whoever designed the front fuse panel under the pass side dash was not the brightest. It is a PITA to get to and then when you get there a MFPITA to get the fuses in and out! But I digress....I know that FSR's have been an issue in E36's, E39's, etc. and even in the 01/02 X5's. However I find it hard to believe that BMW has still not designed a better solution in all these years. Or, maybe they did and I have another problem. I searched the E70 forums and see where FSR's have been mentioned as a potential problem but did not see any replies officially stating it was the culprit.

Do you guys think it is the FSR or do you think there is another issue? The buttons/indicators all work ok, ie. the fan increases when you push the bigger fan button, the meter goes to full when you hit the defrost button, but the fan does not come on all. No heat or AC.
TIA,
J
