If the switch is faulty don't buy use. I replace a similar switch for my Audi Quattro with the zf 4hp18 trans and it took me all day. If BMW use the switch to provide direct power to the reverse lamp you can bet that eventually the switch will burn up due to the current used by the bulbs.
