Very unusual. Newer cars have a failsafe that pop the lock open when inside. Looks like it was a 97' 328ci. I mean the handles are tied to the linkages to open the door. So it is very unusual for that to happen. May she Rest in peace. Definitely not a good way to leave this earth.
