To remove the sensor just get a regular socket, cut the pigtail to the sensor and place the socket onto the sensor and with a good ratchet or breaker bar just give it a twist.

You can probably rent the socket with the slit in it from a local autopart store to install the new sensor. Put a little ant-seize so that the next time you need to replace the sensor it will be easier to remove.

Or you can use a crow foot wrench if you have the right size.
