Flashing LED at Headlamp Switch 2004 X5

Twice now I have noticed the LED on the headlight switch flashing when switch is to the (auto) far left setting...turning the ignition off, then restarting the vehicle makes it go off....? Did I miss a page in the owner's manual?

If you have Xenon adaptive headlights with auto-leveling then this indication is telling you they are not working correctly. (Not moving).

I don't think I have this LED on my headlight switch - I have a 2004 3.0i, by the way with Xenon auto-leveling (non-adaptive). Anyone else have this tiny LED on their 2004+ 3.0?

Thanks for the feedback...I do have ADX lights, and they appear to be swiveling properly...they also "fire up", raise slightly, then dip, just as always, on start-up....but, of course tonight, no flashing LED, just a steady green. I have a 5/04 build, I believe.

yip it's for the adaptive headlight it flashes if not working correctly or a bulb is out. I had it flashing on my 1 series for 8 weeks until BMW could figure out what the problem was.

Same here, build 04. Did you find out the problem? Mine has started flashing...

It means you are have some sort of issue with the adaptive portion of the headlights. Are yours also functioning correctly?
