A/C Evaporator Repair

So this past week I got into the Evaporator repair for my X5. It has a leak and now that the weather has gotten a little cooler now seemed to be the time. The pictures that I have attached below is just to give others an idea of how much has to be removed from the car to access the evaporator. Its a labor intensive job and the parts are not that costly. In any event i am changing the evaporator, expansion valve, seals, and resistor unit.

Since you have everything apart I would also do the heater core. Don't want to tear everything apart to do the heater core.

I did a heater core on my Audi A6 Avant. Didn't have to pull the dash since most of the heater core was in the firewall and front cowl.

Nice work. You going to replace all the foam seals on the blower box while in there? They tend to disintegrate over time though yours look to be okay in the pics.

I did have some foam seals on hand but mine were in good shape and were not disintegrating.

Yes also do the blower motor. It's only another $200. You don't want it to start making noise just as soon as you put everything back together.
