YazX5's 06 X5 4.4i Documentary/Journal

Hey guys, long time reader of these forums so I decided to join as I'm always in these ultimate driving machines. Helped me a lot in the past so hopefully i could return the favor in the future. Anyways, this weekend I picked up an X5 4.4i, and after seeing CleanisFast's journal on his 4.6is, I thought I'd start one to document everything and what not from the beginning. So here we go.

Little Background on it:
Built in May of 2006
77k miles
Sport model
Titansilber metallic
Dakota schwarz leather

Car was originally from Cali, just got to Chicago so very nice body and undercarriage
Body looks good, although could use some detailing/paint correction
Interior is pristine

Now there are a couple of issues that still need to be addressed.
2 axle air suspension is on the ground, shouldn't be too big of a deal
After being on for a very long time (15-20 mins) smoke out of the right side exhaust, oddly though, it doesn't smell like oil, more like water? What I'm implying is it probably isn't the valve stems as smoke would be coming from both pipes correct? will probably check out the CCV valves first then we'll diagnose if its really valve stems because I don't want to tear apart the motor for no reason lol.

Other than that doesn't seem to be any issues, panoramic title up and down luckily, but for some reason the shade won't close all the way, there's about an inch opening. No biggie, maybe something due to the weak electricity as the battery is shot.

After I get it raised gonna do an oil change, spark plugs, air filter, etc. the usual regular maintenance stuff.
Then possibly some tweaks such as aluminum running boards, silver interior trim, aluminum pedals, steering wheel trim, nav screen is pixelated, led lights etc. etc.

But for now gonna work on the major suspension/engine issues get that all sorted out and go from there.

Don't have pics now, will get some up when I get home. In the meantime heres my decoded vin.

Seems like a decent X5. Don't put the iS badge on it again
Look like the photo posting isn't an issue anymore.

It would be a good idea if people listed pricing on their purchases just to see where the market stands.

Haha ya, the previous owner was an enthusiast and he actually put the wheels, rear valance, and 4.6 badge on it. I was gonna take it off but I was afraid it was gonna ruin the pain as I have no idea what adhesive he use. And there was also those hideous grill inserts on the fenders that I had to live with.

I bought the black one in November 2015 with 114k miles for $9200. Sold it this October with 116k miles to a friend for 8k.

Yea not a big fan of the iS badge and those side grilles but to each their own.

So here it is, couple of quick pics of the new rig after I cleaned it up a bit. Sorry about the poor quality, lighting/I was in a hurry. But here it is:

So it looks like I solved the air suspension issue

Got the scanner to pump it up, ride height control works again but the cars lopsided. The right side are both up and the left are down. The left rear is full of air and the front looks like air is escaping out of it. So now I have a few options and would like to know what you guys think.
Buy a complete air strut assembly from arnott for $349
Or buy just the bag from arnott for $285
And on the other hand I've seen some aftermarket ones on eBay complete strut assembly for $285 or bag alone for $180
Thanks.
