2004 bonnet mounted jet washer wires/ fault????

i'm having trouble with my windscreen washer jets. they work, then don't work, then work.
i have narrowed it down to the actual washer nozzles on the bonnet.

the actual jets on the bonnet on my 2004 e53 have 2 wires each, going to a connector. never seen this before.

could these wires be bad? what fuse would thiese be?
what do i do next?

The wires are there for the heating element...not for spraying fluid.

The washer jet's heating cycle follows the same design as that of the e38 & e39...see explanation below: (the heated wiper park area at base of windshield only applies to the 7 series...but heated washer jets apply to other models)

I would check the filters on the pumps they are on the side of the water reservoir and can easily get clogged up with debris. I take them out and clean them every year when I remove the water res to get the air filter in/out easier. I do have the diesel though but assume that the water res is the same on every model.
