Clearcoat repair on 214's
I took my 214's off my car, got tyres removed, and was going to get some repairs. All 4 have the varnish flaking in various spots, mostly around the centre cap. The repairer wants 450$/wheel. Has anyone done DIY repair of the clearcoat? Removing the old clearcoat without damaging the brushed aluminium texture underneath is something I'm still stumped on... https://photos.app.goo.gl/AQVfdpdtQ6Ao1yEcA The car's a 2010 model, so spending 1800$ to redo the wheels isn't something the boss (Mrs) is going to accept! Any advice? (getting a new Mrs is not an option )Cheers Scott. Melbourne, Australia

Repairing damaged wheels
Being in the collision bis we have subcontractors that repair/refinish those wheels for roughly $100. Now retail customers........probably a little more. Now I'm in Houston so it's a little different here. Find collision shops around you and try that route. Depending on your location......somebody does this work professionally. These shops need those wheels done correctly and must last or the customer/insurance company gets.........well.......mad.
