Thumbs down Mac Mini Car Install

I am considering performing the experimental and seductive mac mini (intel based w/ front row + remote) install in an '03 4.4i. It will be connected to an AVIC-D2 or AVIC-Z1 (haven't decided yet) via a Drected Electronics video switcher (MCB1000). I will be using a Carnetix P1900 power supply to provide power to the mac mini from the car battery. I may even through in a rear view camera w/ night vision. Anyone have any thoughts or comments. Im truly open for suggestions...

That'd be pretty cool. Although you may have more customizable options and flexibility with a Windows OS.

Very true as i am both a PC and Mac user.... I just prefer Front Row over doing a Media Center PC for the car. The front row interface is a bit easier to use in my opinion, and it is just plain simple... (not that Media Center is complex or very hard to use; just doesn't have that simplistic "it" factor)

I agree, I am thinking about a home theater setup run by computer and I prefer front row.

Mac Mini - Carputer

Take a look at mp3car.com for alternative Frontend Software to run a computer in a car.

I've seen some of the other stuff and the experimental/beta stuff that has been created, but nothing comes close to that "oh so sweet" look/feel of Front Row....

I have a development company that is actually developing a hybrid of Media Center and TabletPC. I will post pics soon! We are going to be selling the package as part of our Product suite... check it out www.ibigllc.com

Two systems, front and back... :-)
