exterior temperature indicator

I live in a climate where it will be right around 35-37 degrees F for a couple of weeks (then much, much colder) but everytime the temp goes below 36 degees my X5 tells me with a ding and a displayed message. I know he is just looking out for my well being, but I really don't need to be told this. what drives me nuts is that if the temp fluctuates around the special number it tells me everytime is goes back below 36 (or what ever it is) Can I at least get it to stop dinging at me?

Thanks!

Sounds like you have the common temp sensor fault. You will have to change the external temp sensor which is quite easy to do and not expensive. The temp sensor is located on your drivers side, behind the front bumper splash guard. To access the sensor you have to go in from the drivers side front wheel well, you only have to loosen a few screws so you will be able get behind the splash guard and pull the temp sensor out with a pair of needle nose pliars. The temp sensor is not screwed down its pushed into a rubber holder so its easy to remove and install the new sensor. Its a simple plug and play replacement and no resetting of any kind with the dealer. I replaced mine a few weeks ago, took me 20mins to do it.
