morning starts...

Hi guys, anyone on the forum has noticed that the X5 starts out quite slow in the morning. What is mean is that once i engage the car into D, it literally does not move (even with foot off the brake pedal and slightly squeezing the accelerator) it takes a while to "respond" and feel the car moving. Anyone has noticed this or its just me?

A possibility is that the trans fluid is still not at operating viscosity, and cannot flow efficiently through the torque converter.

well, let's say RPM is slighlty above 1k. it just seems that that car is not moving in the first few seconds until you give it a good squeeze on the throttle and then you feel the four wheels coming alive. Of course i am starting out on a flat ground. agree with vinuneuro that his theory could be logical. Anyone else notice such a phenomenon?

What's the year and model of your X5? How many miles are on the odometer? The 3.0i and 4.4i use different automatic transmissions; the 3.0i uses a GM transmission which can be problematic. Have you checked your fluid levels and fluid color (for contamination)?

I find the same thing on mine.....04/4.4. it takes a few seconds to respond when cold. mind you this is only after it has been sitting for a few days.
