Bluetooth Retrofit...Activate Phone???

Got the kit installed after a bit of trouble and confusion re; some of the fastners and finding the proper plugs located in the back of my XUS 2003 X5 4.4. However one area of question still was the voice jumper plug (came with your kit) vs something called the SES jumper plug which I think was already installed in my vehicle. Anyone know about these (See attached pics/post.) I removed the attached plug and attached yours the voice jumper plug. The rest of the install (mic, cradle/pairing was okay and easy). However I can't get the vehicle into pairing mode. I start it with the pairing button depressed for 1 sec prior and then release it two seconds to 3 secs after ignition and the phone menu comes on. I get a red light to the top right of my Nav but NO BLUETOOTH PAIRING MODE screen on the NAV. The screen just says ACTIVATE PHONE? What does this mean? Do I need to have the dealer code the system or something? My phone pairs fine however with my bluetooth Motorola handset and wife's Mercedes bluetooth system. I have a Treo680. Any assistance out there?

Cool

Hi,

I assume that your phone is in BlueTooth mode and activ.

Press the button (with face and ((( on it) and keep the pressure in 3 seconds, then turn the key in position 1, - and after additional 3 seconds you depress the button.

Your display should now show "BLUETOOTHKOPPLUNG" (German) or something like "BlueTooth connection".

You might be asked to put in a PassKey og PIN code which should be included in the installation kit. The code is to be given via your phone.

It did not succeed the first time for me, but second attempt did it.

Good Luck!

I just tried to scan my manual, but the scanner would not co operate.

Have you seen this site: http://www.xoutpost.com/bluetooth.php - there is a lot about BlueTooth and BMW.

Hi...thanks I can get that to work okay and the dealer got it working at th shop however I think the problem is my phone. Its a treo680 and won't pair however my wife's motorola will pair and call out. Hmm looks like some sort of swap or 3rd line/phone just to keep in the X5 may be in order. Any thoughts out there?
