Anybody w/o heated seats have this?

I'm ok w/o heated seats, but my wife gets a bit chili on cold nights and in the winter. Just wondering if anybody tried these or have other suggestions for heating her seat.

Had a local upholstery shop (one that does sublet warranty work for the BMW and Audi dealers) install aftermarket heated seat hardware in my 528i. Just driver's side. I purchased the factory switch and they wired to that for an original look. $350 and that included heated base and back, as well as a repair to the seat back motor. Works like factory. Ask your dealer who they send their seats to for repairs.

What year is your 528i? I read somewhere that old BMW's had 2 wire connection only +/- , but on newer BMW's there are 3 wires connection, +/- and one for temp feedback. Meaning that your heaters need to have thermistor in the heat element.

OP: I called around upholstery shops in my area, only found one willing to do the job for $650 both seats, but only the back part of the passenger seat, because there is an air bag sensor in the bottom part of the pass seat. Don't know if you want to spend that much though.

97 E39. Can't speak to the 2 vs 3 wire but the seat heaters I have are High-med-low for temp. I only did the driver's side since it's just me on the daily commute. And yes, there is an air bag sensor in the seat base of the passenger side though they often fail like mine has. Just kneeling on the seat is enough to damage the early ones. But my shop had no problem doing the passenger's seat if I wanted them to.
