CPO'ing Your Own Vehicle

I'm thinking about purchasing my soon-to-be-coming-off-lease 2005 X54.4i and my dealer has offered to purchase it from BMWFS, certify it, and sell it back to me at a somewhat reasonable price (less than the lease residual value). Can I shop this around or do I need to go through the dealer that initially leased the vehicle to me? I'd like to see if another dealer could do even better.

worth a shot shopping it around and seeing if other dealers will do it... can't loose anything and there is nothing special about one dealer over another, just got to see if they would be willing to make the deal

This is exactly what I did when my '04 came off lease over a year ago. I did this via my local BMW dealer which is not where I initially leased the vehicle. Worked out great. Regards

Not sure why you'd have to "sell it back". You can purchase it right from the lease, without any change in ownership, and the dealer will CPO it for you. CPO usually costs around two to three thousand.

I am in a situation where my lease on my BMW matures on 11/16. I am currently negoitiating with BMWFS and one of the things I am considering is to have the vehicle CPOed...

Do anyone know if you can CPO a vehicle that you currently lease? Once again, this would be one criteria that would be included in my negoitiation with BMWFS.

Not sure they can/will CPO it...I think you could, upon "purchase", off your lease,
do the "O2P" ext warranty, identical to a CPO in terms of coverage, neither of which
is as comprehensive as the oem warranty.

A link below, and the BMWNA site also ref's the O2P deal; that moniker
stands for Original Owner Protection.

The only other alt is a 3rd party warranty from someone like WarrantyDirect.

Good, BigR...I had no clue. I was just offering up Plan B, which should
work, too. But, the OP may be able to negotiate the CPO deal into his
buyout.

I'm glad there is more than one smartpants here on the board...I was
feeling lonely.

I want to make sure I understand this correctly. So, one of my negotiation points with BMWFS is that they CPO the vehicle before I buy it off lease. I am trying to include this in my buyout deal with BMWFS. So what I am hearing is that I am able to negotiate the CPO deal into my buyout and have BMWFS paid for it.
