o2 sensors?

Something has to be wrong if your milege is that low, or you are just standing on the pedal.

Poor milage woes...

I recently purchase a 2003 3.0i manual shift. Drove it from SC to WV, or about 8 hours worth of driving, and I got 22 mpg. Around town stop and go traffic, and I only drive 1.75 miles to work, I'm right at 19-20 range. I just put new tires on, Yoko Envigor, and I think that helped here recently too.

Your milage of 8-10 mpg is not right, that's for sure. Have someone put it on a machine and see what's going on.

How are you determining the MPG? Are you calculating it or using the computer?

Have you plugged in a Peak meter to see if the engine is throwing codes? If not, try that first. Simple, easy and can save you a ton of money. Next, consider changing the plugs and filters. Changing of regular maintenance items never hurts. Then see what kind of mileage you get. As previously mentioned, O2 sensors may be bad as well. You may also consider changing your MAF's at some point in time. Don't waste money by just changing everything at once. Try the meter first. Good Luck

MPG is really low, I have experience a decline in mileage on my E39 M5 but not that low and it was caused by a faulty coolant thermostat which forced more gas into the engine to get it at optimal temps.... Replaced the t-stat and all is back to normal...

I can get my 05 3.0i auto down to 8 miles per gallon , but only if I drive it very hard . Normally it will do 16 mpg ( english gallons ) around the doors with a little enthusiastic driving thrown in .
