Exclamation Hi Everybody From Spain

Hola From Spain, I Have An X5 3.0d Year 2002 August Automatic Full Equip.i Bought It Second Hand6 Months Ago.
The Bad News Is Thats Its Been Allready A Month In The Bmw Dealer.
The Reason Is The " Trans Failsafe Prog" Message And The Gears Stoppe Working.
Apparently Water Came In To The Command Unit, Rusting Everything.
They Have Changed The Command Unit And The Cables But Still Does Not Work (its On 5th Gear At The Moment), Now They Say They Have To Change Also The Control Unit ? And If That Does Not Work Then The Gear Box.....

Im A Bit Scared That They Dont Knpow What They Are Doing.
The Meain Reason For All This Delay Is The Delivery Of Parts.

They Say That The Cause Of All This Its That The Last One Who Opened The Unit Did Not Close It Propperly And Water Came In To It Rusting The Parts Overtime...

Any Ideas, Comments, Possible Solutions That They Might Overseen?
Is The X5 A Real 4x4, Can It Go Overriver With Water Up To The Door ?

Thaks For Your Support.
The Link Is Great, I Manager To Chnage The Front Blinker, Change The German Voice Module To Uk Thankls To You Guys.
All The Best

Hola to you from across the pond and sorry to hear all the problems with your X5.

To answer your other question, no the X5 is not a real 4x4 or SUV. It's a SAV that's built for on-road, not to cross rivers. You'd need a boat to do so.

But anyway, hope the dealer fix all your problems and welcome to X5World.

Thanks for your quick reply

I understand that is now a real 4x4 but still suprised that the car cannot cross a small river, a car before me crossit !! and it was a basic small Citroen ? I went to the parts section on the webpage but i cant really determine which parts they have to replace on my car.
Any idea of the electronic parts of the tramission ? ... comand unit, control unit ????

The electronics part of the transmission is called the TCM (Transmission Control Module)
