New Member saying "hi" 2003 M/T

I just picked up this 2003 3.0 with a manual transmission. It has 72,000 miles. The day after I brought it home the passenger window regulator went out and washer pump as well. Go figure! I texted the guy I bought it from and told him he is lucky he sold it to someone who is use to working on BMWs. I couldn't be happier with how the car handles. I am really impressed. I owned a E39 and the two cars are very similar. My plans are - CDV delete and short shifter (made a world of difference on my e39) lowering springs, and a possible audio upgrade. My X is really stripped down as far as options go. Also, I had really good success with replacing all fluids with royal purple in the past. May do this or Redline, not sure yet.
Best to you all and I hope I can contribute to the forum

nice looking truck... i like the detail job on it - reminds me that mine could look just as sharp, only if i put a bit of effort into it...

i guess you know what you are doing with short shift, but if you need pointers, you could check with Gregory891 in Switzerland, he just recently done the short shifter...

congrats on nice looking truck... now its time to post in manual registry thread started by RickyBobby.

welcome aboard!!!

Royal Purple is alot of hype, when i worked in the lab it really didnt posses any characteristics that made it stand out from Amsoil, M1, Redline, PZ, QS etc. With that said your truck looks awesome, also like that SS, i got a 1970 chevelle with the ls6 454 that i built. Matches my freightliner lol

Ricky Bobby will become famous soon enough
There is an M/T registry thread (which should be made a sticky!) in this forum, you might have to dig a page back to find it, but AWESOME find, black on black on black, low miles, she is a real peach.

I did the CDV delete, a UUC SSK, and changed my diffs/transfer case/manual trans fluids to Redline fluids 1.5 years ago, and I use Shell Rotella T6 year round with an OEM filter. Be sure to flush the brakes/clutch as well!

No, sold the e39 and also had a e30 M3 that got sold. Have kids now so the X is the closest thing to family fun I have. I want to buy an e39 M5 in the next year. May be the greatest car ever?
