Retractable cargo cover from late '03 X5

Found out from my local BMW parts
counter today that sometime in late August 03, BMW changed their design and
the cargo cover on all X5's produced after 8/15 forward are retractable style.

Here are some part numbers:

1. W/ Electric Rear Seat Adjustment - 51 47 7 122 025

2. W/out Rear Seat Adjustment - 51 47 7 135 675

'04 Retractable
Cargo Cover Conversion on a '03

I never did like the BMW
retractable cargo cover. It always seemed like it was moving around in
the tracks. I also heard they end up making a lot of squeaks/rattles
when they get older.

The overall conversion was not very difficult on my '03 4.6is. It took
me approximately 90 minutes to complete.

You will not need the aluminum brackets as the ones that are in the '03
and older X5 line up to the new "Vent Louvres" just fine. I have listed
the Parts below for anyone who's interested in doing the conversion.
It's very straightforward.

I would also like to give a special thanks to IFlyX5 for giving me the
correct part number for the Retractable cargo cover and the pictures as
to how the cover worked.

Obviously, you will probably be able to do better on the overall cast
but I just wanted to give an idea of what retail would-be.

Overall, I would absolutely do this conversion again. This makes the
back end so much nicer and cleaner looking too!

W/out Rear Seat Adjustment - 51 47 7 135 675 ($$$Unknown)

You will also need the Right and Left side "Vent Louvre"

Right Side "Vent Louvre" - 51 47 122 029 ($68.00 Retail)

Left Side "Vent Louvre" - 51 47 7 122 030 ($68.00 Retail)
