Non Smoker Ash Tray Installation
Replacement of OEM ashtray with OEM non-smoker tray including fitment of lens to allow for nightime lighting of tray BMW parts needed Part # 51-16-8-402-968 Description "Storing part" List price $9.00 Tools needed Dremel tool or drill and various bits + a round file if your largest bit is 3/8" like mine was. Original tray full view  Original tray end view w/lens visible  Original tray end view w/lens removed  Non-smoker tray full view  Non-smoker tray end view w/o lens  The installation of the lens was quite simple. 1. Pop lens out of original tray 2. Measure original tray for center point of lense opening and mark. The opening is 7/16" in diameter 3. Either Dremel or drill new opening in non-smoker tray 4. Snap lense into opening of non-smoker tray from the inside Non-smoker tray end view w/lens installed  Non-smoker tray full view w/lens installed  Non-smoker tray completed installation  It's a very inexpensive mod, and only takes a few minutes to install |
