Alpine MP3 Changer CHA-S634 w/DSP Install
This might be old news to some, however, it may help others so I would share. I have a 2001 X5 with GPS and DSP. Everyone I spoke to at Car Audio shops stated that there was "no way" that I could add an I-bus (MP3) changer to my stock system. Well I have proven them incorrect. Here is a list of the accessories needed, and it is plug and play: - Alpine CHA-S634 MP3 CHANGER (about 299.00) - SOUNDGATE ABMW35V5 ADAPTER (about 100.00) - SOUNDGATE #BMWDSP ADAPTER (about 160.00) (Pre-wired from the factory) - ALPINE KCA-130B AI-NET/8PIN DIN ADAPTER (about 10.00) - BMW OEM MOUNTING KIT P/N 82 11 0 009 305 (about 16.00) The only downfall to this is that there is a 9volt regulated from a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug that attaches to the #BMWDSP. I took a 12 volt power plug from radio shack and plugged the 12v adapter into it and connected it via wire ties and eclecrical tape along the wires that run by the spare tire, and taped into one of the power out puts on the right side of the cargo area. The sound quality is great, and there were not install issues except where to mount the 2 boxes to hide them from view. (personal preference.) Hope this helps Someone !! If you need more detailed instructions, feel free to email me at [email protected]. |
