So I'm assuming you are using the 7th Generation ULF then ?

Perhaps this is the point, only the 7th Gen works with this newer phones ?

OK,

I've just retro fitted a 7th Gen ULF in my E39 and I can't get the 8800 to stay connected when trying to dial or receive a call. SMS messages work perfectly and the phone book syncs but nothing esle.

Hoon ( or anyone that can report this to work ) can you post your ULF part number or version and also your firmware version on the phone ( *#0000# )

Thanks

Hey Biglad_uk.

Thanks for your help. What version of firmware do you have on the 8800?

I've been given an 8800 by vodafone for my loyalty to date FOC. I will be trying it out this week. Just waiting for it to come in. I find that the S700i is a pain . Very unreliable on the 6th Generation ULF that I have in my X5.

Lets see what the outcome is.

Regards and thanks again

Hi Jack,

My current firmware is V03.28 dated 26-05-05 but I'm hoping to get this updated today or tomorrow so will post back when it's done to let you know if the situation is changed

Guys,

Here is my latest news. Well Vodafone sent me an 8800 this week. Very nice phone, except that it does not work with my X5.

Well the version of this is 3.60 dated 12-08-05 RM-13 My ULF is the 6th Generation.

I still don't think this is the latest version available. I will be checking with the Nokia Service Centre during the week. I read on the net the version is up to about 3.7x. Not sure if this is true or not.

The phone uploads the phone book with no problem at all, however when I try to make or receive a call it disconnects and reconnects.

Simon, Did you update your firmware yet? Let us know.

Keep you all posted.

Same problem as you I'm afraid.

I have a 7th Gen ULF but I haven't had my firmware updated updated yet from 3.28.

I'll try again this week to get it sorted and report back.

I did find the guy who reported that the 8800 worked with his car but it turned out to be a 3 Series which uses a different ULF AFAIK.

Simon,

Was that Hoon? From Hoon's post he does imply he has an 06 X5. And we still don't know what version of ULF or Firmware he has. Would be interesting to know.

Thabks again.

Jack
