Can you give some details? What part numbers you used? Did you do any custom modification? How well it works and are you satisfied with the end result, etc?

I just fitted the one you posted below and trimmed the sides with a dremel for the iphone to fit .....30 min job

TBH the only thing it gives is the ability to charge the phone

I was hoping for a little bit better follow-up then that. What I posted was much more extensive than what you are referencing. I am totally unclear what you installed and for what phone. According to BMW and the information I posted, had you bought the correct parts and the complete set you would not have to do any trimming of the sides and your phone would not only charge, but if would be hands free and also utilize the antenna in the car.

Original iPhone Mod

Did this back in 07 when the Original iPhone came out. Had Soundsational custom make a fiberglass housing. No button needed to pop the phone out, it stayed in place all the time. To get out I just lightly pushed the phone forward.

Craig,
I realize this is form an old post, but I just read it today. I have a 2001 E38, and I love it. So, I want to "elegantly" snap p in my iPhone (just for charging purposes) and I just wonder where to find the following spare parts you recommended a few years back (unless there is a better option).

- 84 10 9 168 940
- 84 21 2 151 038.

My plan is to complement these, with a couple of Chinese made GPS/BT/DVD that claim to be plug in compatible in the E38, while still allowing me to use the steering wheel controls.

Your advise will be greatly appreciated.

Luis.
