When I bought my 528 last year, I had the Inspection I done at the local BMW dealer. They did a less than stellar job of finding all the problems on the car. I ended up fixing some of them, but knew I still had some suspension issues in the front. So, this year for my state inspection, I decided to try out 3D Auto Works (who I found on the independent BMW mechanics' web site, which I found in their ad in the CCA magazine.)
Within 45 minutes after I dropped the car off, I had a a phone call with all the things they said needed repair or should be repaired, along with the costs. I gave them the go ahead (state inspection, new serpantine belts, front swaybar links and new brake pad sensors - the previous owner had left them hanging - another thing the dealer did not pick up on), and the car was done by that evening. I picked it up this morning and the car feels so much better!
They really went through the car - I have a list of other items the car will need in the next few months and estimates for the prices to repair. A very good experience - I will be using them again for the work on the 528.
